Bio:
Linda Breggin is a Senior Attorney with the Environmental Law Institute where she directs the
Center for State and Local Environmental Programs. She also co-directs ELI’s Food Waste Initiative. She is a Senior Strategic Advisor to the Nashville Food Waste Initiative and previously served as Co-Chair of the Nashville Mayor’s Sustainability Advisory Committee which developed climate mitigation recommendations, including food waste reduction measures, that were incorporated into City’s Climate Action Plan. She is the author of the “Around the States” column in the Environmental Forum, ELI’s award-winning policy journal where she writes about food waste prevention and composting among other environmental topics. Ms. Breggin previously served as an Associate Director in the White House Office on Environmental Policy, Counsel to a congressional subcommittee, a Special Assistant in the Office of Enforcement, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Counsel to a large, New York-based law firm. She is a graduate of Tulane University and the University of Chicago Law School.
