Bio:
Dr. Aurora Dawn Benton is Founder and Chief Change Maker of Astrapto LLC, which advances positive impact in hospitality, travel, and events – with a special emphasis on food and beverage sustainability. Her passion is enabling and empowering all levels of an organization to contribute to and benefit from sustainability endeavors. Aurora has led three World Wildlife Fund food waste reduction projects – in Baltimore, Dallas, and most recently six jurisdictions of the Pacific Coast Food Waste Commitment.
Aurora has been a thought leader in industry associations such as the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and initiatives such as the Event Industry Council’s (EIC) Sustainable Events Standards. She was the curriculum designer for the EIC Sustainable Event Professional Certificate online course. Aurora has a Doctorate in Business Administration in Social Impact Management and was named a 2021 Top 30 Sustainability Champions by the International Hospitality Institute.
