Bio:
As Vice President of Sustainability for Whole Foods Market, Kathy teams with business partners to develop vision, strategy and execution for various programs including sustainable, resilient buildings, food donation and waste minimization, packaging solutions, and social responsibility. She sits on the Sustainability Committees for FMI and RILA. She led development of the first combined heat and power fuel cell applications for supermarkets, built solar program to close to 100 locations, developed the industry’s first waste cooking oil to combined heat and power application for a commercial kitchen, and energy storage systems at several locations. The Company has the most zero waste certified stores in the industry, among the most Green Chill certifications and dozens of LEED and Green Globe certified stores as well as about 100 EV charging stations across the country. She is a founding Steering Committee member for U.S. DOE’s Better Buildings Alliance and a founding member of EPA’s Green Chill Program. Kathy helped grow a start-up energy technology company and was Director of Energy & Environmental Management for Shaw's Supermarkets. She was appointed to the town of Scituate, Massachusetts’ Renewable Energy Commission, where she was lead influencer in the town becoming the first 100% renewably powered in the state with a 1 MW wind turbine and 3 MW landfill solar installation.
