Mary Beth Durkin is a freelance journalist who is passionate about food and its intersection with the environment, our health and public policy. She has won multiple James Beard Awards for her feature length broadcast stories. Those stories are part of a series on food systems that she created for the PBS NewsHour, called Food4Thought. She is currently producing a five-part series on food waste for the PBS NewsHour. Her main medium is video, but she also writes about food systems for online publications like National Geographic.
