2024 ReFED Food Waste Solutions Summit

Nicholas Bertram is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Flashfood, an app-based marketplace that strives to eliminate retail food waste by connecting consumers with discounted food nearing its best-by date. Bertram joined Flashfood in February 2023, bringing more than 20 years in retail across multiple channels (fashion, mass, grocery), functions (stores, merchandising, strategy) and companies. His most recent role was President of The GIANT Company, part of Ahold Delhaize. His five years were marked by transformation, growth, and awards -- all thanks to the purpose-led, 35,000 teammates. It was that purpose which opened his eyes, mind, and heart to the problems of food waste and affordability, which he now proudly works with Flashfoodies and their progressive Retail Partners to solve. Flashfood is one of Fast Company's 2023 Most Innovative Companies, and just getting started. In addition to leading Flashfood, Nick serves as an Advisor to Divert and an Independent Director at PECO. He and his wife live in Pennsylvania with their five young sons.
