Bio:
Heidi Rupke serves as Food Rescue Coordinator for Project Green Fork, which seeks to develop a sustainable food system for all Memphians by reducing food waste, connecting local partners, and encouraging green dining. Her work focuses on evaluating previously untapped avenues for food rescue, training nonprofit partners in food safety, and connecting donors with local nonprofit partners who can use surplus food. Heidi works with all parties to create accurate and accessible records of donations in a software app to track overall progress as a geographic region. Her prior experiences as a teacher, writer, and editor contribute to the communication strategy underscoring this work. Heidi appreciates Memphis’s thriving community engagement and volunteer scenes that drive positive local change.
Heidi holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Dordt University and an MA in International Training and Education from American University.
