Bio:

Joe Evans is a senior social investment officer at The Kresge Foundation and a senior fellow for climate finance at the Opportunity Finance Network. At Kresge, he has spent the past five years working to ensure that markets left behind by traditional finance actors benefit equally from new technologies and resources that improve buildings, create energy independence, boost resilience, and, when possible, reduce costs through solar generation.

Evans joined Kresge in 2014. Prior to that, he worked for more than a decade with a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in organizational development, nonprofit business planning, social investing, and multi-funder initiatives. Evans also served as an executive at a community action agency and, most recently, was the director of lending for a CDFI focused on expanding housing and educational choices for persons living with disabilities and their families.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Southern Connecticut State University and an eMBA from Columbia Business School.
