Bio:
Lisa Knapp manages the Compost Program for the City of Boise, where she leads efforts to reduce organic waste through curbside collection, public outreach, and compost utilization education. She also oversees operations at the city’s composting facility.
With a background in civil-environmental engineering from Seattle University and a Master of Public Administration from Boise State University, Lisa is committed to building sustainable systems that keep food and organic waste out of the landfill—helping to significantly reduce methane emissions—while returning valuable nutrients to the soil.
Lisa is a passionate advocate for soil health, sustainable circular systems, and waste reduction and works to connect Boise residents, schools, and businesses with tangible ways to reduce organic waste and expand access to composting through policy, programming, and education.
