Bio:
Alcione Pereira is the Founder of Connecting Food, Brazil’s first social impact foodtech specialized in the intelligent management of surplus food donations. A food engineer with a master’s degree in Sustainability and an MBA in Business Management, she works at the intersection of food systems, social impact, and solutions to reduce food loss, food waste, and hunger in Brazil.
Through Connecting Food, she leads an operation that has already helped complement more than 33 million meals across over 320 Brazilian cities, connecting hundreds of donation points to social organizations and strengthening a more efficient and reliable food redistribution ecosystem.
Alcione is Co-Creator of Rede Save Food Brasil and Co-Founder of both Pacto Contra a Fome and the Todos à Mesa Movement, national initiatives dedicated to advancing food donation and food waste reduction in Brazil. Connecting Food also serves as a technical partner to WWF and WRAP in the implementation of the Target-Measure-Act (TMA) methodology in Brazil, while contributing to food redistribution projects in partnership with FAO/UN and to the development of Brazil’s national strategy to reduce food loss and waste in dialogue with the Ministry of Social Development of Brazil.
She has been a student of Kabbalah since 2014.
