Bio:

Hannah Semler is CEO and Co-Founder of FarmDrop.us and founder of WholeCrops, working at the intersection of food waste prevention, produce rescue, and community food systems. Her background spans food business strategy, sustainability, and early work in technology, shaping her focus on building practical, scalable solutions.

She began her career launching and expanding gleaning and food recovery efforts in Maine, including the Downeast Gleaning Initiative and the Maine Gleaning Network. Through WholeCrops, and as a Betsy and Jesse Fink Family Foundation Fellow, she has supported large-scale produce rescue and redistribution efforts nationwide and across borders, including work in Nogales, Arizona, and Sonora. She is currently leading the development of a Food Loss & Waste Solutions Roadmap for the Baja California Peninsula with ICF.

Hannah’s work bridges on-farm recovery, supply chains, and market-based approaches, including e-commerce models that strengthen regional food systems. She also develops multimedia communication tools and thought leadership initiatives to support network development and advance more connected, resilient approaches to reducing food loss and waste at scale.
