The Bulb is a nonprofit mobile farmers market focused on creating food equity and reducing food waste through barrier-free access to fresh produce. Through community markets, food rescue, and produce repackaging, The Bulb serves neighborhoods across Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, NC, that face systemic barriers to healthy food access.

A variety of shifts are available throughout the week, including market operations and produce rescue and repackaging. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for one or multiple shifts, depending on availability.

You do not need to volunteer with The Bulb to attend the ReFED Summit.
These volunteer shifts are organized and coordinated by The Bulb, not ReFED. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from volunteer sites. Some shifts may conflict with Summit programming, so please review the Summit agenda before signing up.
